i bought this oven in 7/2024 and in 11/2025 started to have ventilation issues with the knob control. it worn-out, this is very low product and never buy any GE appliances anymore. the vent knob should be heavy duty for daily use not to worn out after the one year warranty expired.

I can™™t say enough bad things about this stove. It has fallen apart over the years. The glass top is very breakable. The finish has come off of the grates. It™™s hard to cook on because the burners are so small. The downdraft gets ton of food and grease down in it and it has to be cleaned out so I cover it with foil to keep it clean. Would never purchase this again.

Grates prematurely discolored and finish flakes off. Rubber feet on bottom of grates fall out or Crack.
The igniter on all burners fire at the same time, regardless of what burner youre turning on. Now my back right igniter on the small simmer burner is out, and I cant find a proper replacement or procedure for replacing it.
Vent is too powerful and pulls flames away from pots. Even at lowest setting it interrupts flames and the gasket around the vent cover does nothing but deform and doesnt seal anything off.
No air/gas mixture adjustment for tuning flames either, as shown in video, initial install, and current flames. All in all, great looking cooktop that has great flame patten. Just not practical.

Waited 5 months from date of purchase (paid then) and just received missing 2 type B burner diffuser caps - GE sent 3 type A caps and 2 of the burners are the type "B" - very frustrating to wait nearly half a year and then have the unit packaged wrong.

I was hesitant to purchase this cooktop because I thought the pictures online made it look odd compared to other cooktops. But needing a downdraft 30" gas cooktop left me with very few options, and all of them far more expensive than I hoped. But I found a great deal on this cooktop and have been happily surprised. It actually looks much nicer than online pictures. The black glass looks slick, modern and matches our kitchen in an understated way. The grill tops lift right off and make cleaning the top very easy. The vent on low is effective and not too loud, while on high is super strong (stronger than we ever need, but there if you need it). I also appreciate that the grill tops are higher than the temp knobs which keep pots and pans from accidentally touching them and melting them (a problem with my prior cooktop). There are 3 different types of burners which is helpful. There's no fancy modern features as you see on many cooktops (at a much lower price I should add), but this does the basics of cooking just fine. I deduct a star because the downdraft vent extends pretty low and is in a rectangle shape exhaust. We had a circular pipe previously. And because the vent hangs so low, there's not enough clearance to just bend a rectangle-to-circle vent pipe. We are thus forced to create a custom solution.

We had initially purchased the PGP7030SLSS to replace our original PGP990SENSS builder installed downdraft cooktop. We were wanting to keep with the rest of the GE Profile appliances in our kitchen. But found out the hard way that a 30" GE Profile Gas cooktop does not always dimensionally replace a 30" GE Profile Gas cooktop. The non-downdraft 7030 cooktop left a roughly 1.5" gap in our granite countertop at the rear. Sadly, as much as I dislike a downdraft, we HAD to replace a downdraft with a downdraft.
I AM NOT fond of the glass cooktop surface. I feel that I must be ultra careful using larger pots & the potential of dropping a hot pot or scratching the glass bothers me as well. The burners and grate sit higher off the cooktop than the PGP990SENSS.
Is it REALLY worth the $2700-$3000 price tag™¦.?
One feature that I would like to see offered on future models is the LED backlit knobs. This might elevate this product from Average to Good.

This is my first experience cooking with gas, and I love it. This cooktop looks impressive and has met all my expectations. I waited on this particular model for a while due to needing a downdraft model, but I am so glad that I didn't settle for any other cooktop.

I spent $3000 getting a new cooktop installed and it did not come with all of the parts. I can only use 3 of 4 burners. When I looked online for a replacement part it said that no replacement parts were available. Needless to say. I am extremely disappointed.

I absolutely hate this cooktop. I am replacing it with a 5 burner gas cooktop and getting rid of that horrible middle air vent. If you turn on the vent during cooking, your flame in the rear gets pulled in. If you don't turn it on (and probably if it is on) food gets dropped in it. Food, sauce, gravy, and sometimes utensils have had to be dug out. Cleaning is hard and more than elbow deep to get it cleaned well. WHY would this style be considered???? If you cook a lot like I do, you know sometimes you have spills and mishaps and the middle air vent acts more like a trash can than a vent. That being said, I have had it for 12 years. But, spending the money to add a 5th burner and moving the deep trash collector is something I am very much looking forward to doing!!!!

This cooktop replaced our 18-year-old gas downdraft GE Profile cooktop. The new cooktop works beautifully and looks great, too. The design is very similar, but I love and prefer the new grates over the old style.

Do a lot of stove top cooking so wanted a good brand. Replaced an 8 yr identical model with this one slam a repeat customer. Unfortunately there are not many options available for 30 inch downdraft cook tops so GE please do not stop making this! I love the fact that it™™s fairly easy to keep clean and removable parts are dishwasher friendly. The various burners are more than adequate for a home cook. The downdraft exhaust fan works very well too. I hope this new stove lasts a long time for me. I recommend buying it.
